Here it is, Brian.

When you deign to join me here, Brian, we can talk about dinner tomorrow. I work until 5:15 this week, so keep that in mind; I don't know how late you work, but I'm guessing this means we can meet somewhere closer to midway between us.
I'm surprised you haven't commented yet on the latest post on the main site!

I'll be waiting...

By the way, Ken Jennings just passed the million-dollar mark on Jeopardy. I watched it.

I agree--thanks for driving up. In light of our chattering last night, I found the headline of the first real article posted on Slate this morning particularly humorous...

My first response was "That sounds great!" Then I checked my calendar. My friend Erin is coming in from Minnesota for a wedding here and she's staying with me. So I can't go away that weekend. Sorry...
I don't see any impediments the other weekends of the month, though.

Thanks for the info on the Saudis.
As for ING, I've always been happy. Their interest rate never dipped below 2% and has been on the rise lately--I think it's at 2.2 now. That's not a lot of money, but it's more than any other bank I've seen. The money transfer from your regular checking to ING savings takes a day or two, so you have to plan ahead if you need it, but not by much. If you do want to get an account, let me e-mail you an invite; we'll both get money for it.

Smart thinking. I already e-mailed you an invite. You'll find it waiting for you when you get home.

Yeah, I've been thinking about the Frances-Bush connection today, too. I'm hoping it just totally devastates the Republican parts of the state. If it's got to make somebody homeless, better my enemy than my friend--they may feel more inclined to vote Bush after he gives them disaster relief, but at least they weren't swing voters.
I'm also hoping it hits soon enough to knock Bush off the front page. I don't know what size building would have to fall down for that to happen, but it's possible, right? Then again, I thought Kobe could knock Cheney down and it turned out Russia pushed him aside this morning instead.
Anyhow, after all the lying and anger and viciousness the GOP has delivered, I'm just hoping Bush says something classically stupid tonight. But more importantly, I hope Kerry is ready to go after this. He needs to start hitting HARD. Bush should already be down for the count, but the Democrats aren't being aggressive enough. Bill Clinton should be out there every day winning people over. Jimmy Carter should build a house in Ohio and deliver a press conference there every day on why Bush is bad for America. They need to make the country feel the urgency of a change in leadership. Right now they're just not doing it.

Thanks for the link, Brian. Very interesting...I hope Zogby is right! It sounds like he's pretty bullish about Kerry's chances. I'm starting to feel that way, too; I really think he has a chance to whip Bush good.

Do you own the books? It's going to be a while, in any case, but I would like to finish one day...
